A restrictive practice is any action that restricts a person's rights or freedom of movement, and includes the use of medications, devices or physical force. There are five types of restrictive practices under the Aged Care Act. These are Chemical Restraint, Physical Restraint, Mechanical Restraint, Environmental Restraint and Seclusion.
